…The Butcher Of Brisbane was definitely not my favourite audio ever. Using a ‘Read More’ for (somewhat incoherent) spoilers for the audio and because I’m being a hater and don’t want to foist my buzzkill on people who are surfing the tags for enthusiasm and love.
This audio was straight-up weird shit and not, unfortunately, in the good way.

Ughhhh I feel bad posting this, I wanted to like it, I HATE NOT ENJOYING THINGS. I try to see value when I can but this story was just not my cup of tea. The giant mutant baby? The weird…cybernetic talking dingo things? What were all the political allegiances going on? What was the deal with the media? Even the timey-wimey was fairly banal. Also the tie-in with Talons of the Holy Racist Serial, Batman! didn’t interest me one bit.
I’m beginning to think that Marc Platt just…isn’t my favourite writer? Of the Big Finish audios he’s done, I hated Loup-Garoux, HATED HATED HATED Valhalla oh my god WORST AUDIO it took me months to force myself to finish that one, Skull of Sobek is my least favourite Lucie Miller audio, I remember Time Reef being…weird, as was Doll of Death which is a shame because I love me some Jo Grant, and Frostfire and Mother Russia were both…sub-par. This list is like, 95% of the Big Finish audios I’ve not liked, ever, out of the hundreds they have made, and they are ALL BY MARC PLATT. There is a correlation, here. I’ve liked a couple of his - Silver Turk, Spare Parts, but they are definitely in the minority, whereas I’ve actively disliked most of his writing.
